Dynatech Sells ComCoTec to
The Potomac Group
BURLINGTON, Mass., July 1, 1998 . . . Dynatech Corporation announced
that it sold the assets of its subsidiary, ComCoTec, Inc., a Lombard, Illinois-based
supplier of pharmacy management software and services, to The Potomac Group, Inc.
John F. Reno, Dynatech Corporation's chairman, president and chief executive officer,
commented: "Although ComCoTec is a leader in its field, it is in an industry which is
outside of our company's core communications markets. As a result of the sale, we believe
The Potomac Group offers ComCoTec a better strategic fit and a better opportunity to
realize its potential."
The proceeds of the sale approximate the price for Dynatech's recent acquisition of
Pacific Systems, a supplier of cabin management systems for corporate aircraft. "The
purchase of Pacific Systems bolsters our core business and leverages the strengths of our
subsidiary, Airshow, the worldwide leading provider of passenger flight information
systems," said Mr. Reno.
Mark Smith, chairman of The Potomac Group, said: "We are excited to add ComCoTec
to our family of healthcare technology companies. We believe that this will contribute
significantly to our existing leadership position in the pharmacy EDI segment. In
addition, we look forward to additional synergies by offering a wider array of products
and services to our respective customers."
